  • First Referendum

    This was held on May 20th 1980, It was the first referendum regarding Quebec separating from Canada. Ultimately it did not pass

  • Rene Levesque stepped down

    Rene Levesque, Leader of PQ and premier of Quebec stepped down from his postion.

  • Meech Lake Accord

    The Meech lake accord was sent to federal and provincial governments but never ended up passing

  • Charlotte Town Accord

    A referendum for all of Canada was held about Quebecs seperation but was immediately shut down.

  • Final Referendum

    The final referendum was held regarding Quebec become soveirgn but lost by one percent of voters
