It also officially ends French support to make the the Jacobite party sit on the British throne.

    The seven years war was fought between the two world super powers France and Britain. This was the first global war as it was fought on Europe, India, North America, and at sea. The war was fought to brooded their spheres of influence into the new world. This war also saw 300 000 British troops mobilized and 1 000 000 french troops making it the largest war ever at the time.

    The Battle of the Plains of Abraham also know as the battle of Quebec. Was a battle fought between the Great Britain, France, The Canadian Militia, and the Seven Nations. The battle took place at Quebec, new France and had 656 British Casualties and 650 French. The battle was fought because the British wanted Quebec and the French did not want to give it to them. The battle ended with Quebec in British hands and though the French tried they never took it back.

    What changed in the north west and pacific coast?

    During the first half of the 1800's the European population in the pacific coast was not high with first nations outnumbering them 100 to 1. But as land in the east was becoming more scarce more people started to settle in the area. To try and keep peace between the new settlers and the first nation the Governor signed a treaty with the first nations promising them land. 9 years later gold was found in the area and some of that gold was on first nation land, then the governor made new deals.

    the development of trade and industry affected the lives of First Nations people living in the Atlantic colonies by pushing them out of where they once lived. This in turn left many first nations displaced with nowhere to go. A good example of this is when the chief of the Mi’kmaq ask the British government to stop giving the land that perversely promised away to people coming in to the area. But this request fell on deaf eats and was denied.

    The Reciprocity Treaty significant for the Atlantic colonies because it allowed free trade between British North America and the United States. Free trade was important because it made it so trade was not taxed which led to an increase in trade between these two nations. However in 1861 the American civil war broke out which led to an increase in sales. But this in turn led the Americans to end the treaty. As a result the people living in the colonies had a drop in sales putting many in debt.
