    Duplessis was determined to stop any federal government interference in Quebec’s affairs;his goal was to develop Quebec’s natural resources and drive Quebec’s economy.Duplessis vowed to defend the French language,the Roman Catholic church and French culture against English speaking business-people,the federal government and the communists.This is important because he changed the way Quebec was run.The church had a lote of power which it would not normally have.Which changed the way kids learned.

This is important because if he had not done this to those kids they would have grown up as better people, If Quebec was not run by Duplessis Quebec would have been a better place during the time he was ruling.

The french believe that is a english player would not have been suspended for as long it was only because he was french. The riot started because the head of the NHL was at the first game that the rocket was not playing and that was why the riots started. This is important because this created very high tension between the french and the english.

This is important because it changed the lives of Quebeckers for ever.

    Members of the FLQ kidnapped the provincial cabinet minister Pierre Laporte and the British diplomat James Cross. In response, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau invoked the only peacetime use of the War Measures Act. The kidnappers murdered Laporte, and negotiations led to Cross's release and the kidnappers' exile to Cuba. This is important because Trudeau had to use an act that had prier to this only been used once for world war 1.

    Many immigrants came to Quebec and they preferred to learn the English language, upset the majority of French-Canadians.
    To protect their French language and culture the provincial government led by Henri Bourassa passed new legislation called Bill 22. French was proclaimed as the official language of the public service in Quebec. THis is important because now some people may not know what anything says because they don't understand french

    More extreme than Bill 22. French was to be used in government the courts and business. Businesses could only display commercial signs in French. French became the official language of the workplace. Quebecers had the right to use french in the workplace. Quebecers were now able to access jobs only previously open to those who spoke English. This is important because now some people are unable to get go or do anything because they can't read or understand french and a lote of people left Quebec.

Over 90% of the people in Quebec voted. 40%voted YES 60% voted NO This is important because it would have changed the lives of French and English Canadians because if Quebec left we would not learn how to speak French and would not be mandatory for some jobs and everything would be in English and there would be no French in Canada.
