Charles de Gaulle, the French president in 1967, visited the World's Exhibition in Montreal, Quebec. He stood on the balcony of city hall in Montreal, giving a speach to 10,000 people. He repeated the phrase "Vive le Quebec! Vive le Quebec libre", the slogan of the separatists in Quebec.
