Hidalgo is forced to retreat into the North after suffering from a tragic loss. However, the Spanish managed to ambush him and his troops. Many were captured and executed.

Hidalgo is tried and is obviously found guilty for treason. He is executed and his head is hung to show at the Alohndiga de Granaditas.

Jose Maria Morelos took over for Hidalgo, but like Hidalgo was also captured and sentenced to death for treason. He was escorted to Mexico City where he was executed.

The Plan de Iguala was accepted and it favored both the rebel army and Iturbide.

After using the Plan de Iguala to gain power, he becomes Emperor finalizing the 11 yaer war, and allowing Mexico to be a constitutional democracy.
