Mexican IndependenceOn September 16,1810 Miguel Hidalgo started a revolt of Spanish Rule! Hidalgo and his Indian followers fought against the Spanish, but his revolt was unsuccessful, and then later Hidalgo got executed. After the Mexican-born Spanish and Catholic Churches joined in with the revolution, Spain was defeated in the year of 1821.

Gutierrez: was a military adventurer who fought in Texas For Mexican Independence.
Magee: was a U.S. army officer who pushed for the Mexican Independence. Together both Gutierrez and Magee created the Republican Army of the North and fought in the BLOODIEST BATTLE in Texas History at the site of Medina. -

In 1819 a financial panic swept across the country. The growth in trade that followed the War of 1812 came to an abrupt halt. Unemployment mounted, banks failed, mortgages were foreclosed, and agricultural prices fell by half. Investment in western lands collapsed.

James Long: The most well known filibuster was James Long. Long was upset about the boundaries of the Adams-Onis Treaty and wanted Texas to be totally independent or apart of the United States. His death marked the end of the filibuster period in Texas, and Mexico gains there independence in 1821!!!!!
