  • Thirty Year's War

    Thirty Year's War
    In 1618, Rome had become a fragmented empire, it had several states that the emperor had no real power over. Religion also further divided German leading to northern protestants and the southern Catholics. The thirty's years of war was actually several battles, these battles were terrible as mercenaries were involved and many were killed without mercy, this event was important as it left German lands divided into more than 360 states and brought peace throughout European settlements.
  • English Bill of Rights

    English Bill of Rights
    After the Glorious Revolution, the new heir to the throne William and Mary had to accept these acts passed by parliament known as the english bill of rights. These Bills consisted of many things, like how the house of commons kept control over spending. It also abolished excessive fines and cruel punishment. This event was very important as it had a large influence on the United States. Which largely affects my life personally adding to its importance.

    The war of austrian Succession
    The War of Austrian Succession occurred because Frederick II seized the Hapsburg province of Silesia. Maria Theresa the daughter of Charles IV fled to plead for military support from Hungarians, even with their support she could not force Fredrick out. What was important was that she persevered her empire and won the support of her people! She also reorganized the bureaucracy and improved tax collection!

    The Stamp Act
    The stamp act taxed items such as newspaper and pamphlets, Colonist did not like this and since they has no representation in parliament they felt like they shouldn't be taxed so the british repealed the Act, but taxed them anyways! This led to violent confrontations with british soldiers in the Boston Massacre. This was important as it snowballed into the boston tea party, and eventually the declaration for independence.

    American Revolution
    The American Revolution was the fight for colonist to gain independence! The Stamp Act and The Boston Tea Party were both motivators to start the war. But the colonist were lacking in supporters,resources, and organization. But once the Colonist bested Britain at the battle of Saratoga, france decided to join the battle and help defeat their old rival. With france in 1781 the colonist managed to become independent. This is important as The United States of America was now its own nation!
  • The Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris
    After the colonists defeated the British Army and forced their surrender at Yorktown, the British War effort ended. After 2 years American, British, and french representatives signed the treaty of paris formally ending the war. With this newly signed treaty britain recognized the United States of America independently. Along with this they accepted the nation's western border as the Mississippi river!

    The french revolution was a really big event! To summarize the french revolution changed completely changed political and social structures. It also ended the french monarchy and feudalism, while also taking away political power from the catholic church. It was important because it changed the way rulers ruled and how citizens reacted to rule!
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Tennis Court Oath
    The tennis court oath was created by the third estate in france in 1789. The third estate claiming to represent france declared all by themselves the the national assembly. When trying to host their first meeting as an assembly the hall was locked and they has to move to the famous tennis court and swore to never seperate! This event was important as it showed the the Thirds Estate determination!
  • The Storming of Bastille

    The Storming of Bastille
    The storming of Bastille, was a large mob of people that wanted to raid the Bastille prison for gunpowder and weapons. When the commander refused and opened fire a battle started! Eventually the mob broke through the defense and killed the commander and 5 guards. This event was important in the french revolution though as the Bastille was a symbol of tyranny and this storming signified the end of the tyranny and the a step towards freedom!
  • The Reign of Terror

    The Reign of Terror
    When france created the committee of public safety and basically gave it uncontrollable power it quickly encouraged everyone, men, women, children to engage in some way to support france for all out war! And anyone who did not agree was considered a "traitor" and this in turn led to the Reign of Terror which arrested 300,000 and killed 17,000 citizens!
