    Bourbon Family
    THe Bourbon family is a european royal house, with a french origin. In the 13th century was ruled by a Lord, in France. In the 16th century, the Bouorbon family began to rule in Frnce and Navarre. The Bourbon family ruled in Spain, Naples, Sicily, ad Parma. The Bourbon family became an important family in 1268, when Robert, the sixth son of King Louis IX, to Beatrice who was in the Bourbon family.

    Henry IV

    Henry IV
    He was known as "Good King Henry". He reigned from 1572 to 1610. Henry IV was the first monarch in the House of Bourbon. His mother raised him as a protestant but he was babtized as a Catholic. He inherited the throne in 1572 as the king of Navarre when he married Margaret of Valois.

  • Louis XIII

    Louis XIII
    Took the throne at a very young age becaause his father, Henry VI, was assasinated, so at the age of 9 Louis inherited the throne. Louis was not allowed to make goverment descsion until he was 16. Louis married princess Anne of Austria.

  • Louis XIV

    Louis XIV
    He became king in 1643 and he led an absolute monarchy. He reined for 72 years. In 1667 he invaded the Spanish Netherlands. Overtime the time of his reign, Europe was transofrmed into the art and literature. Louis XIV transformed Europe into a dominat European power.

  • Louis XV

    Louis XV
    Louis XV, or also known as Louis the Beloved, was in the House of Bourbon who began ruling in September, 1715 and ended ruling in 1774. He is best known for contributing to the decline of royal authority that led to the French Revolution in 1789. Louis died a hated man because he overspent and he damaged foreign relations with France.

  • Louis XVI

    Louis XVI
    Louis XVi reigned from 1774 to 1791. He was the last Bourbon king of France affter hus fathers death. He married Marie Antoinette. Louis destroyed the French Revolution and was executed because of it. His wife was then executd nine months after. They had four children, alll dying but one.

  • Louis XVII

    Louis XVII
    After the execution of his father, Louis XVII inheirted the throne. The royal family he grew up in was forced to flee Versailles. His susccessors were NApoleon I as Emperor of the French and Louis XVIII as King of France and Navarre. The religion he was born into was the catholic religion.

    After Louis XVI death, the french stopped being a monarchy and became a republic. I think that the Boubon is were a good ruling family, they had some rulers who made bad descisions with their spending, and they had good rulers who helped with wars and more.
