    Estates General convene at Versailles
    The king and Finance minister had called forth the 3 estates: Clergy, nobility, and commoners, to converse about France's financial issues. The third estate was being treated unfairly, having to pay ridiculous taxes of amounts they were incapable of of paying, putting them in an enormous debt. On the other hand the two other upper class weren't obligated to pay even tho they had all the money. The assembly was an attempt to propose financial reforms to the Estates General

    The Third estate was removed the the estates general, and locked out of their assembly hall at Versailles. They decided to create their own national assembly. They moved into an indoor tennis court and vowing ""not to separate and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established". They wanted change and to put France on a firm foundation

    An French angry crowd march toward the eastern fortress, where all the political prisoners where kept. Bastille represented the royal authority in France, and the people stormed into battle. This was the third estate making a statement, showing they wanted change within the government. The commander and troops resisted for a while, eventually surrendering to the people. The people all had taken weapons and gun powder from Bastille as well.

    This document states that "Men are born and remain free and equal in rights". Also it mentions mans's natural right of "Liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression." Overall the document talked about peoples rights. The document guaranteeing equality before law. Although women and children were not accessible to these rights.

    Women mainly bought the food and managed the house and resources in a family. After the Storming of Bastille many of the nobles left to foreign lands because their home was destroyed, and their money along with them. France's money declined putting them in an Economic crisis, the prices of products raised by a significant amount. On the 25th thousands of Parisian women marched to Versailles to protest these prices because they couldn't afford the groceries.

    This document "The Civil Constitution of the Clergy" was issued by national assembly that allowed the French Government to control the churches. This was an act to realign the churches with the values and objectives of the revolution. (essentially putting them on the same wave length). The clergy were required to swear an oath of loyalty to the state Now that the owned some of the churches they also sold some the churches for land (Dechristianization???).

    King Louis XVI and his family were caught attempting to flee form France. He was in fear that the safety of him and his family were in jeopardy so to insure this he wanted to flee from the capital. The king believed he had some supporters that were still loyal to him on the country side but in attempting to flee he and his family were caught in Varennes. They were sentenced to "imprisonment" which was house arrest in his business castle

    The September massacres were a series of killings in France. The people were in fear of the royalist armies who had fled were going to attach them.Prussian armies had invaded France.

    King Louis XIV was put on trial for his treasonous acts. he was considered a traitor because he attempted to flee. The Monarchy was abolished and France had officially adopted republicanism. The king was found guilty and sentenced to death and was beheaded by Guillotine.
