Calling of the Éstates General
On May 5th 1789, king Louis XVI called upon members of all three estates to be in the Éstates General. This was a sort of voting system which was very biased because each estate got only one vote, even though the third estate made up 97% of the French population. -

The National Assembly was formed when the third estate refused to remain a part of the Estates General. They eventually came to take the tennis court oath, which states they they shall not separate until a constitution is formed. -

The thermidorian reaction happened in the month of Thermidor, created by Maximillien Robespierre. This ended the Reign of Terror. -

In November 1795, the Directory was formed. The Directories purpose was to change the government that France had during the Revolution. -

On August 24, 1799, Napoleon took power of France. He was to be seen in the eyes of the people as a saving grace for France. -

On June 24th, 1812, Napoleon sends 680,000 troops into Russia. They gain a lot of land before winter, but when winter came the Russians wreaked havoc on the French troops and sent only 120,000 troops back home. -
