    Louis XVI gets crowned king of France
    On 1774 Louis Auguste, son of Louis XV was crowned king of France. Louis had been married to the Marie Antoinette of Austria for many years before having an heir to the throne.

    On May 5th 1789, king Louis XVI called upon members of all three estates to be in the Éstates General. This was a sort of voting system which was very biased because each estate got only one vote, even though the third estate made up 97% of the French population.

    On September 21, 1792, the third estate broke off from the estates general to form the National Convention. The National Convention is crowned with the execution of king Louis XVI.

    On January 21, 1793, King Louis XVI was executed by guillotine. The third estate had enough of what he was doing as king, and they decided to rebel.

    The reign of terror was a time of catastrophe for France's first and second estates. Members of the National Assembly followed of their leader Marat, and killed anyone he told them to.

    The thermidorian reaction happened in the month of Thermidor, created by Maximillien Robespierre. This ended the Reign of Terror.

    On June 24th, 1812, Napoleon sends 680,000 troops into Russia. They gain a lot of land before winter, but when winter came the Russians wreaked havoc on the French troops and sent only 120,000 troops back home.
