After scolding Montag about keeping books, Beatty forces him to burn his own home and books.

The green bluetooth like device is ripped out of Montag's ear. Beatty takes it and turns it off.

After loosing the bluetooth device, having set his house on fire, and listening to Beatty's endless taunts, Montag snaps. He sets Beatty on fire and kills him.

Montag comes to the realization after killing Beatty that he actually wanted to die. Beatty didn't even try to dodge when Montag turned the fire hose on him.

Montag tries to escape after killing Beatty but is attacked by the mechanical hound. He fights him off but it stabs him in the leg.

After fighting the hound, Montag grabs the 4 books that were missed by Mildred.

Leaving the crime scene, Montag realizes that now everyone is looking for him. He is a wanted criminal.

Montag has an internal conflict with himself whether or not to go and see Faber after this. He ends up making his way toward Faber's house, needing to see and be with someone like him.

On his way to Faber's house, Montag has to cross a street. The problem he encounters is that the cars are speeding so fast, it is nearly impossible to cross. He does so though, but barely.
