    The Bastille was a prison. It was attacked by an mob that were getting ammunition. This day is now known as Bastille day and is still celebrated today.

    Decleration of Rights of Man
    The Decleration of Rights of Man stated that all men are equal no matter the class, and that everyone is allowed to express their opinions. Frenchman were allowed to hold office. Women were not granted citizenship.

    The March to Versailles was a riot of women that wanted lower bread prices to feed their families. They also wanted the king to move back to Paris.

    Attacks on prisons
    There was a fear that prisoners would revolt and massacre the people. Jean Paul Marat ordered an attack on the prisoners before they started to kill the people.
  • Louis's Trial

    Louis's Trial
    Louis had more than 30 charges against him. He was found guilty and his punishment was death by the guilliotine which was designed to behead. He was then executed on January 21, 1793.

    The Terror was used to fight off enemies of the Revolution, they wanted to prevent a counter reformation. If a person were to just say something critical about the government, then that person would go to the Guillotine.
  • Robespierre killed

    Robespierre killed
    Robespierre tried to kill himself by shooting himself with a pistol but managed to survive. He was then guillotine without a trial.
