He took control of England and Ireland. Previoulsy james the 5th had the throne. He was the first king of Scotland and England. He was not a very good king. -

Charles the 1st faces rebellion in Scotland
He tried to force a new prayer book on Scotland. And inturn it created rebellion amongst the people. -
Charles the 1st is tried for treason and hanged
This happened in London. He was accused of being a tyrant and overthrowing peoples rights. He was tried by 135 judges and only 68 of them showed. He was hung on Jan. 30, 1649. -
Oliver Cromwell invades Ireland
He hated the Irish because they were loyal to the Roman Catholic Chruch. Oliver was Protestant. They were getting revenge for the Massacre of English Protestants and they won. -
Oliver Cromwell abolishes Parliment
He made a new government. The assembly of saints took place of the parliment. -
Charles the 2nd is restores to the throne.
He was in exile after the execution of his father. He became the king of Scotland. There were two wars with the dutch, a plague, a great fire of london, and had an assassination attempt. -
Habeas Corpus is passed
This was a common law. This strengthened ancient prergative. -
James the 2nd comes to the throne
It went on from 1685 to 1688. He was the sencond serving son of Charles the 1st and henrieta mana. -
Glorious Revolution
This resulted to the Bill of RIghts. With James the 2nd, William of Orange and Mary. THis was also called the Bloodless Revolution. -
English Bill of Rights is signed
King James the 2nd fled from England. Daughter Mary took over the throne with her husband(Dutch Prince), William of Orange. They were declared the official king and queen of England.This was the base of the US constituion.
