    Justinian's Rule

    Lasted to 565. Became ruler among Justin I's death. He had great energy and was an easy going ruler. He was known as "the Emperor who never sleeps".

    Plague Spread

    The Plague began to spread. Heading to the Mediterranean urban areas. During this 6th Century The Plague came and took over 200 million lives. It came from rodents and their fleas and killed humans very quickly.

    Siege of Constantinople

    Lasted to 678. The first Muslim siege and fighting were the Byzantine Empire and the Umayyad Caliphate. The Umayyad's outnumbered the Byzantine's but the muslim's strategic knowledge won them the battle.

    First Crusade

    The First Crusade lasted until 1099. It was considered 'The People's Crusade'. It's intentions was to regain the Holy Land from the Muslims. This crusade let to the victory of regaining Jerusalem.

    Capture of Jerusalem

    It took a few tries to capture the Holy Land but they finally got over the city walls and regained back their land. They massacred the citizens and conquered Jerusalem. The Siege ended on July 15th.

    The Second Crusade

    This Crusade lasted until 1149. It began after the Fall of Edessa. Two groups walked across Europe seperately and both were defeated by the Turks.

    Neither group was powerful enough and were oboth verun by the Turks.

    Leprosy

    Leprosy arose and spread quickly throughout Europe, becoming one of the most feared diseases in Europe.

    The Forth Crusade

    Crusaders conquered and tore down many cities, leaving their initial purpose for the Crusade. They never reached the Holy Land either.
