    From 1490 to the 18th century, Latin America was a running country in its formative period. This is a continuity because Latin America was around for many years.

    Granada Fell

    In 1492 Granade fell which was the last Muslim kingdom in Spain. This is a change because the kindom was standing and then fell, brining a change in power.

    Treaty of Tordesillas

    In 1494, The Treaty of Tordesillas was created between Castile and Portugal to clarify power and rule. This is a change, because before power and rule was unclear, and then this was a new way to distinguish the specifics not otherwise stated.

    Hernan Cortes led exppedition

    In 1519 Hernan Cortes led an expediton with 600 men to conquer the coast of Mexico. This is a change because Hernan tried to conquer Mexico so he would have new land he did not have before.

    Inca Capital fell

    In 1533, the capital o fInca, Cuzco, fell to the Spanish. This is a change, because until 1533, the capital as under Inca control, but ten it changes to be under Spanish rule.

    By 1535, most of central Mexico was under Spanish control of New Spain. This is a change because Spain owned new land they did not own before.

    Portugese king wanted new capital

    In 1549, the king of Portugal people such as the govenor general and officials to create a capital at Salvador. This is a change because he wanted a capital in a new place.

    Spain and Portugal had the same ruler

    From 1580 to 1640 both Spain and Portugal were united under the same ruler. This is a continuity because for a span of time, Spain and Portugal were under one constant ruler.

    In 1681 the Recopilacion was made to codify laws. This is a chnage because laws were unclear and there were a lot of them, Recopilacion was a new way to organize and code the laws.

    From 1702 to 1713 the war over Spanish succesion was fought. This is a continuity because it happened over a span of years and continued.
