    The collapse of Teotihuacan

    During the collapse of Teotihuacan, the new founded city known as Tula emerged and Hidalgo emerged as the new capital of the Toltec Empire.

    Before 1869 the state of Hidalgo was part of the State of Mexico but then 1869 came by and so it was decided that the state of Hidalgo was going to an independent state and be named after the revolutionary patriot Miguel Hidalgo.
