    1st Crusade

    The 1st Crusade lasted from November 27, 1095 to July 17, 1098. It was nicknamed the "People's Crusade". It was a two month siege. This was the only successful mission.
  • Mar 1, 1146

    2nd Crusade

    The 2nd Crusade lasted from March 1146 to July 28, 1148. The objective of this mission was to regain the Holy Land after it was captured by the Muslims. The Crusade ended in humilation.
  • May 1, 1189

    3rd Crusade

    The 3rd Crusade lasted from May 1189 to September 2, 1192. The Crusade to recapture the Holy Land was unsuccessful.
  • Nov 1, 1199

    4th Crusade

    The 4th Crusade lasted from November 1199 to April 1204. In Constantinople, the Christians destroyed, burned, and raided the city. The mission to gain control of the Holy Land was not successful.
  • Jan 1, 1212

    Children's Crusade

    The Children's Crusade was led by about 30,000 European children. Purity and innocence were the goals of the Christians. The mission was unsuccessful.
  • Aug 17, 1217

    5th Crusade

    The 5th Crusade happened between August 17, 1217 and September 8, 1221. The objective of this Crusade was to gain control of a Egyptian base. The Crusade was unsuccessful.
  • Sep 8, 1227

    6th Crusade

    The length of the 6th Crusade was from September 8, 1227 to 1229. The same goal was repeated, to recapture the Holy Land. The Crusades failed.
  • Apr 24, 1248

    7th Crusade

    This Crusade lasted from April 24, 1248 to 1254. The goal was to capture the base in Egypt and regain the Hold Land. This mission backfired.
  • Jul 1, 1270

    8th Crusade

    The 8th Crusade lasted from July 1, 1270 to July 31, 1291. The goal of the 8th Crusade wsa to convert the Bay of Tunis to Christianity and recapture the Holy Land. This journey was unsuccessful.
