Sometime in 1849, the conservative party was created. The conseratives beleived in the current government. This is an active party. -

This constitution made Colombia more of a central government instead of the mess Colombia had before. The Constitution was basically the start to Democracy -

Military Dictator gains control
Gustavo Rojas Pinilla overthrows the democracy and becomes dictator untill 1957. -

The National Front was a political agreement between Liberals and Conservatives where they will alternate in power, and a sharing of government departments. -
Junta created
A Junta, or millitary style government/rulled by few, was founded after the dictatorship. The Junta was made of 5 people. The chairman of the junta was Gabriel París Gordillo. -

The Current Constitution of Colombia is established on July 4, 1991
