coming to america

Apr 7, 1846

hello my name is joesph O'Maley. i am from ireland. i wanted to come here because i wanted more land for my crops. i sed to grow potaos but then the potato famine happened.

first day

It was my first day in America; an I found myself a house to stay in.It was amazing there was fight clubs I could go to and win lots of money. The place was only a buck for a week

2 month life

Jun 6, 1846

Its been two months and I have been getting paid for working two jobs, I have been fighting and working at a bar. I am undefeated and I make about 2 dollars a day for fighting plus I get another dollar for working in the bar for 3 hours.

getting sick

I got sick and now I am lying down on my bed trying to feel better but since I have been sick I cannot work. My money has down and I barley had enough money for this weeks rent.I kept throwing up and I was very dizzy. I couldn’t stand up because I would fall over. The club I was fighting t, kept wanting me to come back so I can fight this cocky guy.

come family

I asked my family to come and stay with me, and I told them they would love it here.I have been writing to my family for a couple of months now. Ive been telling them they should come here and live with me.
