    The Gunpowder and Postponement
    A room beneath the House of Lords, where the opening of the Parliament would take place, was leased by the Plot conspirators, where they put 36 barrels full of gunpowder, eight days before the event. Due to the bubonic plague outbreak of 1603, the opening of the Parliament, which was when the Guy Fawkes would ignite the gunpowder to kill King James I, was postponed to November 5th. This would leave the gunpowder barrels sitting in the room for 2 months.

    William Parker's death
    In London, England of 1603, a breakout of the bubonic plague occurred. There was a death count of 35,000, William Parker being one of them.
  • Gunpowder Exchange

    Gunpowder Exchange
    Guy Fawkes, who was to ignite the gunpowder, visited a couple days before the opening of the Parliament to check on the gunpowder, since it had been sitting there since July. He had noticed the contents of the gunpowder had separated. The barrels were immediately changed for new ones.

    The Gunpowder Plot was carried out. On the day of the opening of the Parliament, Guy Fawkes went down to the leased room, threw a torch on a line of gunpowder, and escaped quickly enough to survive. The line of gunpowder burned and blew up the gunpowder, which destroyed the House of Lords, along with everyone in it, including King James I.

    After the death of King James I, the Plot's conspirators used his daughter, Elizabeth Stuart, as the new queen. She was still young, so she was converted to Roman Catholic and would be used as a ''puppet queen."
  • The Murder

    The Murder
    After months of searching for the people behind the plot, the Protestants found and captured the leader of the conspirators, Robert Catesby. They were angered due to the death of their King and the Monarch being converted back to Roman Catholic, and killed him.
  • The Marraige

    The Marraige
    King Phillip III of Spain took advantage of the conspirator’s triumph, and was able to put one of his family members into the throne. Queen Elizabeth Stuart took the hand of Charles, the son of King Phillip III, in marriage. Since Charles was also Roman Catholic, the conspirators took advantage of this for future uses.
  • The Reformation

    The Reformation
    About a year later of planning, the conspirators were able to return the Church of England to the Roman Catholics, once again allowing Catholicism in England, after King Henry VIII had altered it for his divorce. This allowed priests and Catholics to study Catholicism once again, after Queen Elizabeth I had set unfair rules on Catholicism.
  • The End of the War

    Before the Gunpowder Plot, Guy Fawkes fought in the war between Roman Catholics and Protestants. This led him to join the conspirators, where he thought he could ease the tension between Spain (Roman Catholics) and England (Protestants). Spain had declined, but after the reformation, a large majority of England became Roman Catholic, ending the war.
  • The Scottish Invasion

    The Scottish Invasion
    After hearing about the death of King James I, whom they had worked so hard to make king, and the defeat of the Protestants in the war, Scotland didn’t allow this to go by easily. The Scottish were very angered and invade England, and started another war.
  • The Colonization

    The Colonization
    The French sent their first explorers, such as La Salle, to the New World to colonize before Spain or England. The colonization expanded later on, making the majority of the New World French.
