The Magna Carta is an extremely significant event and a catalyst for the start of limited monarchy because it was the first time a king would ever have to do something the public demanded and it showed the power of the people. The king was restrained when the Magna Carta was signed much like how the king was restrained by the parliament

Parliament is so influential because the members were to be advisors to the king. The king was not a fan of this and this disdain created a rift. At the end of the day the parliament ended up being the cause to the downfall of monarchy.

During Queen Elizabeth, many groups wanted more political power and say in government. The puritans were keen on making the Anglican church less pompous and the gentry wanted more influence because of their wealth and social standing.

The Long Parliament lasted 13 years and greatly took away many of the decisions the king could make without Parliament consent. The royal court was eliminated, the king needed evidence to throw someone in jail, and Charles I could not tax citizens without approval from the Parliament.

This was fought between the roundheads led by Oliver Cromwell and the Royalist led by Charles I. Cromwell won and Charles's power decreased significantly and the parliament clearly held power over the monarchy

This event perhaps notched the level of worry for Protestants. Since Hyde was a catholic, the general belief was that James would convert England back to Catholicism. As a result of this marriage, the people actively attempted to reduce the power of the monarchy and give parliament more power.

This was also known as the Glorious Revolution. William and Mary were brought over from the Netherlands and became monarchs under the condition they would sign the English Bill of Rights. This decree gave monarchy very little power and their power because extremely limited.It was an essential step in guiding England to its currect politcal model.
