    during nap time in my kinder garden class, id rarely sleep because me and my friends would often try to trade cards instead of napping.

    after my dad was done work when i was in first grade he would usually be done work around my bedtime, he would bring both of my doggos in and read part of a comic book with us

    first book series i read on my own! the book store would come to school every once in awhile and i was allowed to get a book each time it was at my elementary school.
  • scholastic book store

    felt like christmas when the book store came to school. so many awesome things, i wanted everything they had to offer. a few smelly pencils, a book, maybe an awesome pencil sharpener if i was feeling lucky
  • oregon trail

    in our computer class in gradeschool, there was this game called the oregon trail we were able to play. typically it was a reward for doing well in computers.
  • goosebumps

    i really went crazy with these books. at this point of my life i was getting a very small allowance of ten dollars a week if i did all my chores, that i would save for whole series of these books. me and one of my friends would get a different series from the other and trade them around when we finished the one each of us had gotten.
  • old comics from paul

    one of my dads friends that lived in utah had a bunch of old comic books. every once in awhile he'd mail me a huge box of different comics to read.
  • sunday comics with gramps

    my grandpa loved sunday comics in the newspaper. he lived in a cottage up in plainfeild wisconsin during the summer and he would save all the comics out of the paper for when we visited.
  • cursive writing

    in 5th grade we learned how to write in cursive, we were told over and over that this was the only way we would be able to turn in papers and homework in middle school. none of my teachers in middle school required us to write in cursive though!
  • muffins

    my mom would take me down to headburg public library to get movies or to play games a lot of the time, and there is this bakery in the front of the library when you walk in. i would always ask for doughnuts but would only ever get a muffin
