  • Start of the Haitian Revolution

    Start of the Haitian Revolution
    Many African slaves worked in French plantations but outnumbered their owners. The French plantation owners brutally terrorized the the slaves but then the slaves united to overtake them. Led by Toussaint L’Ouverture and Jean-Jacques Dessalines the Creoles came together to overtake the French.
  • End of the Haitian Revolution

    End of the Haitian Revolution
    The Creoles and the Slaves eventually defeated the French. They defeated the French after a 13 year war and gained control of the entire island for 20 years only to settle for only the left side.
  • Start of the Mexican Revolution

    Start of the Mexican Revolution
    A poor well-educated priest organized a rebellion against the Spanish. The priest name was Miguel Hidalgo and with the help of Jose Maria Morales the Mexicans and the Mestizos who lived in Mexico went into war. It all started when Miguel Hidalgo rang the bells of the church and called for a revolution.

    Start of the South American Revolution
    The Creoles didn't support the King because he didn’t give them enough authority and he was the brother of the French ruler.Lead by two Creole leaders called Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin the descendants of the Spanish who lived in South America declared independence from the King of Spain's rule.
  • End of the Mexican Revolution

    End of the Mexican Revolution
    The Mexicans succeeded and defeated the Spanish after a 11 year long war. Ending with Agustin de Iturbide declaring himself governor of the new independent colony of Mexico and the vice-royalty of South America.
  • Start of the Brazilian Revolution

    Dom Pedro was given the leadership over Brazil by his brother Napoleon. After a couple years of his rule the inhabitants of Brazil signed a petition to be declared independent.
  • End of the Brazilian Revolution

    The petition signed was not ignored by the Brazilian leader Dom Pedro who eventually without any violence gave up his rule and allowed Brazil to become an independent colony.
  • End of the South American Revolution

    The revolution was successful because the Creoles did become independent. After Simon Bolivar came to an agreement with Jose de San Martin, he was given a bigger army and went on to defeat the Spanish in the battle of Ayacucho.
