My life before the move

My life

Jun 16, 1881

I struggled with my life here and wanted to have a better job, and my own land. So I decided to move to America.

The Journey

Jun 30, 1881

The Journey was hard. So many people. It was so crowded on the ship. People becoming sick everywhere. I just new this went towards my getting my own land.

America

Jan 17, 1882

I have arrived here in America and it is very different then my life in England. Crowded, many places to go, and land.

The Carters

Feb 19, 1882

As I was starting out in America, to get on my feet I stayed with a family. The Carters also provided me an extra bedroom. They also helped me find a good job and earn my money before I head west.

Moving West

Jul 24, 1882

the Carters and I all moved west together. They took their wagon and I had a horse. Once we had reached our destination, they told us there would be a race for the new land. So we waited four days till the race.

The Race

Jul 28, 1882

I rode my horse in the race, with my flag, hoping to win land. I come close enough to see the flag in the ground. When I got to the flag I hopped of my horse to put my flag in the ground, and i did. I won my own land.

My Land

Sep 4, 1922

I won my own land and turned it into what i had always wanted. I have lived here now for 20 years and hope to stay here for as long as I can.
