  • My parents divorced

After my parents divorced, my mom and I moved in with my grandparents in Byron Center, MI and my dad stayed in Chicago
  • My second cousin Jessica was born

She's the cousin I'm most closest with and we do so much together, I don't know where I'd be without her.
  • My mom and I moved to Michigan

My mom and I lived in Chicago for a little bit, then she decided to move to Michigan to move in with my grandparents
  • Started gymnastics

    Started gymnastics
My mom only put me in gymnastics because I was such a ball of energy when I was little, and she thought putting me in gymnastics would be good exercise and would be healthy for me. Little did she know it would become a huge part of my life a few years later.
  • First near-death experience

My mom used to give me a few plastic keys to play with and chew on. But then I started chewing pieces off so she gave me some non-used metal keys she used to use, and I would play with them all the time. Well one day I wa going around the house trying to find what they went to. And I found a spot where I thought they would fit nicely. So I pushed my little stool to the counter in the bathroom and stuck the keys in the outlet. I was rushed to the hospital and I was ok, but never got the keys back

  • My mom was diagnosed with skin cancer

My mom came home from a doctors appointment crying, because she had found out she had skin cancer. All those times without sunscreen during the summer when she was little had given her a small growth on her collar bone, and had to be surgically removed. Thankfully, the doctors caught it in time, and she no longer has the cancer!
  • Quit gymnastics

Quiting gymnastics was a really hard decision for me because I loved competing and I loved the thrill of the gravity-defying stunts, but going to the gym almost every day for 4 hours, and training 16 hours a week was beginning to take a toll on my school work, and I began failing since I couldn't keep up. So I decided to quit to try other sports.
  • First car accident

I got in my first car accident. We were in my grandparents' van. My mom was driving and I was in the back with my cousin Alex. All of a sudden from out of nowhere came a deer. It hit the side of the van, went in one door and out the other door of the van. There was glass in my eye, and the police said if we had changed our speed even a little, the deer would've gotten stuck inside the van with us.
