Fear

MY FEARS

  • Age 5: THE DARK

    Age 5: THE DARK
When I was five years old, I recall being terrified of the dark. I would sleep huddled under my blankets and have multiple night-lights scattered about the room.
  • Age 6: MARIONETTES

    Age 6: MARIONETTES
When I was six years old, I happened to stumble upon my parents watching the movie "Dead Silence" and I was never the same afterwards. I would have nightmares about puppets trying to hurt me and every time I saw one in real life, I would cry and scream for my mother. The idea of them still tends to make me uneasy.
  • Age 7: ALIENS

    Age 7: ALIENS
This has now changed vastly, but at one time I had a striking fear of aliens and UFOs or anything that could abduct me. In actuality everything I found that I was afraid of falls under the category of "the unknown".
  • Age 10: HEIGHTS

    Age 10: HEIGHTS
Ever since I can remember, I've been afraid of heights. But there in one memory in particular that sticks out in my my mind from around the age of ten. I had gone to Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire, and my family had forced me to go on the tallest rollercoaster there. I screamed and cried the whole way and ended up getting sick afterward.
  • Age 12: BEING ALONE

    Age 12: BEING ALONE
When I was twelve, a few unfortunate events took place in my life, which caused me to become isolated from my family and friends. I tried so desperately to regain certain things i'd lost, but despite my efforts, some things were not able to be fixed.
  • Present: FAILURE

    Present: FAILURE
Up to today, I loose an immense amount of sleep thinking about my future. Though I feel i'm ready for college, I fear the large change of going to a place where I may not know anyone. Or the fear that I will struggle to find work after I graduate. I want to know that i will be secure and successful in my future.
