    On August 17, 2001, I was born. I was born in Holy Redeemer Hospital at approximately 1:15 AM. I was 9 pounds and 5 ounces, which was the biggest of my 4 siblings.

    The Islamic extremist group, al-Qaeda, hijacked four planes. Two of the planes were flown into the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon, and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.     John Walker Lindh Pleaded Guilty
    The American, John Walker Lindh, who was captured in Afghanistan fighting alongside the Taliban, pleaded guilty which gave him life in prison. At first, Lindh was charged with conspiring to kill United States soldiers. He was also charged with providing support to al Qaeda. This was the spark that started the revolution that led the U.S. Supreme Court to rule that regardless of sexual orientation, marriage was a right to be enjoyed by all Americans.     Osama bin Laden was the leader that caused 9/11 and other major terrorist attacks around the world. He formed the terrorist group al-Qaeda, which would kill innocent people. United states soldiers found him hiding in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and killed him. His death stopped any other terrorist actions by him from occurring sometime in the future.     20 students and six adults were shot and killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut by Adam Lanza. When this tragic event occurred, it showed Americans that their children and theirselves were not safe in the places they thought were the safest anymore.     Two bombs went off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing and injuring many people. After, an intense manhunt that shut down the Boston area to search for the bombers occurred. Police captured one of the bombing suspects, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Investigators later concluded that the bombers planned and carried out the attack on their own and were not connected to any terrorist organizations.     I went Florida to visit my dad for the first time since he moved there. When i was there, I visited High Schools that I may eventually go to. My family and I looked for houses. We also went to universal one day. This influenced me because it made our move to Florida a reality.

    Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a terrorist attack inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. He was shot and killed by Police. Most of the victims were Latino. It was the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter and the deadliest terrorist attack in the U.S. since 9/11.
