    Before the Mexican Independence War
    before the Mexican Independence war begun, there was the Peninsular war going on. The countries that were involved in this war were Spain, Portugal and England. This war happened Because Napoleon was trying to expand his empire and he set his brother, Fernando VII, as new Spain’s king and this made indians extremely furious, seeing that they respected king Ferdinand and they did like the monarchy. Criollos were losing their properties and they were given to the peninsulare, so this led Criollos.

    During all of the time period for the fighting of the Independence, Indians were fighting and resisting to what Spaniards told them to do. During this time period, Indians basically resisted to do what Spaniard stold them to do, they refused to obey Fernando VII.

    Miguel Hidalgo was accused for inquisition and treason, therefore he was killed in Chihuahua. His body was hung in “el centro” and this was supposed to create a lecture for the rebels as a warning that if they decided to keep on rebelling, the same would be done to them.     José María Morelos was captured and executed. Just like Miguel Hidalgo, he was hung to prove to the rebels that Spaniards did have the power and enough people to kill them.
