A mother will always defend her daughter.
I was born with the classic baby chubby cheeks and thighs. Because of this, a man stopped my mother when she was carrying me through the store and asked her, "What are you feeding that baby?". The man was clearly commenting on my chubby, yet cute physicality. My mother replied with a quick, "Same thing you're eating." I learned from then on, a mother will always stand up for her daughter. -
I make a good Jesus
I played Jesus in the Nativity play at my church on Christmas Eve in 1998. If nothing else works out as a career, at least I know I have acting to fall back on. -
Grandmas and grandpas know how to give the best gifts.
After their Australian excursion, my grandpa and grandma brought me back this outfit as a gift. Although the hula skirt may have taken a while to grow into, grandparents always give the best presents. -
Hardhats and babies don't mix well
In Dalonega, GA, my parents thought it would be a good idea go inside a gold mine and explore. We were required to wear hardhats so, naturally, I spent the day on my dad's shoulders banging on his hardhat. Although my parents probably got annoyed very quickly, they tell me I found it very amusing, judging by the fact that I laughed all day while doing it. -
I should never be a hair stylist.
On this day in history, I attempted to cut my own hair. As soon as I got caught and looked in the mirror, I saw a crooked haired girl who would probably never own her own hair salon. -
I knew I was going to be a Verot Viking from day one.
Since I was born, my parents have been training me to be a Bishop Verot High School Viking. Today, I am more than proud to say I have fufilled that prediction and am a student at Bishop Verot. -
Your first car is one you will never forget.
My parents bought me by "first car" and although she had some mechanical errors, most of the time, she ran as smooth as a Corvette. -
Baseball is truly America's favorite passtime.
Taking me to spring training games every years and raising me as a Philadelphia Phillies fan developed into a lifetime love that I have for baseball. -
Some children are more photogenic than others.
This, along with many other matching crying photos throughout the years with Santa, prove the valuable lesson that I shouldn't expect my children to look too photogenic in any of their photos. I certainly lived up to this expectation. -
Holidays are the best time for family.
Every Christmas, my family and I eat dinner at a local Italian restaurant (Ariani's). I look forward to this meal every year because I get to be with family that I don't see a lot of the time and get to eat amazing Italian food.Later in life, people will learn not to give me so many Shirley Temples. -
Never let me too close to anything with a Shirley Temple in my hand.
Although this picture may look innocent, soon after it was taken, I spilt the Shirley Temple I was drinking all over the girl on the left's First Communion dress. Looking back on it, it probably wasn't so smart to give me that drink in the first place. -
The World has so many amazing places to offer.
I was fortunate enough to travel to different places in America when I was young. From Boston to Atlantic City, I have learned that the world is a diverse, amazing place to explore. -
Past mistakes don't define a person
My cousin Albert (seen in the picture) lost mobility in his legs at the age of twelve. Drug induced, he jumped from a roof into a pool which resulted in his paralysis. Although he made one mistake in his early years, he is one of the nicest people I know and has taught me that mistakes don't define a person. -
It's okay to feel like a princess once in a while
I was able to participate as a princess on a float in an annual local parade honoring Thomas Edison. It felt nice to be pampered like a princess for a night and taught me that sometimes, it's okay to feel a little more special than usual. -
Fate works in mysterious ways
In this picture, I am recieving my First Communion. What I didn't know at th time, was the family in the background would be some of the most important people in my life. At the time I didn't know Gianna Drayer and her family, but today she is more than my best friend, she is family. We have a family photo before we were even family. -
Capture life's beautiful and not so beautiful moments.
Today, while making this timeline, I have learned to make sure to capture as many moments of my life through photography as possible. Keeping that in mind, it is important to not forget to life in the moment as well. Looking back on photos is nostalgic yet beautiful,but living the moment is even better.
