King James was born on June 19th 1566 in Edinburgh Castle. His father was Lord Darnley Henry Stuart. His mother was Mary Queen of Scots.

King James I had three sons and five daughters, of whom three survived infancy; Henry, Elizabeth and Charles. The rest of his children died of sickness while infants.

King James I is unfair to the Catholics and this is the start to why Guy Fawkes and other Catholics will plot to kill the king. In the end they will be caught and executed. They wont be the first people to plot to kill King James I though.

James proclaims that smoking is harmful to the lungs and imposes a tax on tobacco. This tax made some of the people very unhappy that they now had to pay more but King James was right about that it is harmful to the human body.

Guy Fawkes and other Catholic dissidents attempt to blow up King and Parliament in The Gunpowder Plot. They are betrayed and arrested.

The Gunpowder plotters are executed by the word of King James. This was not the first attempt on his life.
