My family Left Germany to come to America because of work. Work was very hard to find in Germany, but in America there's plenty of jobs. We hoped to gain lots of good friends and great jobs that they loved and had a average pay. I want to write this Autobiography about myself to inform people about how and what my life story was. -
Birth
I was Born, June 13th 1845 in Amsterdam Germany. I was the third child. Once I was born my parents had to buy a new house because the house they had was to small for all of us. My childhood life was ok. I didn’t get most of the stuff they taught in school, for me it was very hard to learn. I had many friends. The location of where I lived I loved! I could always play with my friends after school and be with my family every evening together. -

My whole family was amazed by such a tremendous piece of work as we were boarding on to a different boat to take us finally to Ellis Island for immigration Processing. After all the commotion through immigration processing we had finally made the grateful journey. -
Arrive at Ellis Island
The last two weeks on the ship were awful. Me and my family had to sit in such a tight and dirty space that we could barely move a muscle. We weren't the only one's that felt like that. Aboard that ship was us and about 3,000 more people on it. The journey was a rough one. As we arrived at the harbor we saw the great big shiny piece of metal standing there, the statue of liberty. -
Wedding
I was 20 years old when i got married. I was marring michael reed. That day my last name changed to Kathrine Reed. I was excited and nervous at the same time. I will never forget waht it felt like to walk down the iell. And what i looked like with my wedding dress on that day. That day I was the happiest girl alive. -

And my boss was quit nice to me and the rest of his workers.The conditions of my work space were fine. And at the end of each work day, my boss would greet us on our way out the door. -
Finding a job
Finding a job- New York.
I started to look everywhere for a new job, when i came across a sign in a window "help wanted" so i applied. The next morning I woke up and went to see if they had picked me for one of the workers to work there. The boss told me i had gotten the job and could start right away. The floor that I worked was the 7th. The room that I worked in had 20 other women in there working besides me. I got paid 7.50 per hour. -
Meeting my Best friend
Today, I was shopping and came across some new pair of shoes so i bought them. This girl then walked up behind me while i was at the cash register and said to me "I geuss these are a popular brand" and held out the same pair. Later during the year I started college and she was in one of my classes and we became friends. And turns out she was my room mate. We hung out 24;7 and she was the best. Im so glad i had the chance to meet her and become one of her best friends. -
Michael dies
Today, my husband died in a car accident. I feel like I could just die. I have to keep on going in m life. I know that there are more things ahead. And that this will only make me more stronger in life. Tomorrow i will try and decide along with michaels parents what we are doing forthe funeral and all that information. I hope I will continue living my life the way I had but in loving memory og you Michael. I will always remeber you.
