How did you use new media technology in the research and planning stages?

  • GOOGLE

For research into my digipack and album advert, I looked up different digipacks and adverts. This allowed me to print off images of them and annotate them, then create mindmaps of the common conventions.
  • STORYBOARD ON PAPER

I created a storyboard for my music video and made sure that I had three different shots, the lyrics and the timings. It was important that this was clear to the cast members the order of the music video.
  • YOUTUBE

I use Youtube to research other music videos. This allowed me to get ideas to get for my music video e.g. Sam Smith - Stay With Me, where, at the end, there is credit to his record label. I copied this idea at the end of my music video.
  • MOJO

Mojo is a music magazine. I used this to look at different album adverts to be able to follow the forms and conventions.
  • MY-DIARY

I used this free online diary to record dates of when work needed to be handed in, and when deadlines needed to be met. This enabled me to keep on top of my work, and meet the deadlines set.
  • BUBBL.U

This online brainstorm/mindmap creator helped me in my audience feedback stage, when I got feedback in the middle of putting together my music video. This enabled me to create a mindmap for my positives and negatives.
  • ITUNES

I used iTunes to research ideas for my digipack. This is because it had images of the front covers of all albums, which allowed me to think creatively and gain ideas to plan my digipack.
  • STORYBOARD THAT

I used this online storyboard creator to create a storyboard electronically because I was able to construct clearer images to show the cast members.
