May 5, 1789 meeting with the Estates-General
A assembly of three estates who decided the new taxes. Marked as the start of the French Revolution. At this meeting they proposed solutions to France's financial problems. -
Tennis Court Oath
This was an oath taken by the 'National Assembly' that stated "not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established." This meant that they were not going to stop until the new French Constitution was adopted. -
Storming of the Bastille
The Bastille became a symbol of the monarchy's dictatorial rule. This caused an angry mob of the citizens of paris to storm into the prison and take over. There were around 1000 men that participated in this attack. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
This is a document of the French Revolution that granted civil rights to commoners. It had four main point. Although it excluded most of the French population. -

It was a march that was supposed to help the commoners get food. This march soon became known as the October march. -

This was the execution of King Louis and there were many things that brought up this event. This was a choice of the people of France because thought he was an unfit King for how he treated and ignored his people. -

When France had put up with enough of the terror they finally arrested him and then later they brought him for execution. This was a cause of all the tourcure he had brought to the French people. -

This code says things about privledges and rights the french people should have, like freedom of religion. -
Napoleon Crowns himself emperor
This was a big point in history, he did this to help France. He did this to show that the crown did not depend upon the churches approval. -

Napoleon and his men march on Russia
France crossed the Neman River and invaded Russia. This invasion lasted 6 months. Total deaths combined were more than 500,000. -
Napoleon is exiled to Elba
It was supposed to be like a prison, but it was not because of how nice it was here. This happened because of his defeat of the war of France and Russia. -
Napoleon's Death
This happened because he became very sick and ill. It turned out to be cancer, he had stomach pains and other stomach problems because of this bacteria.
