Radio
This was one of the first memories I remember. My grandfather turns it on exactly 8am to hear about the recent news. I considered it as an alarm or a signal that it is time to wake up. -
Television
I was a simple toddler back then. My mother told me that when she turns on the television I would automatically go near it and watch all day long. Now, She has one less problem to worry about as I was glued to the television. She usually puts it in Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon. -
Books
I started to read books when my grandmother gave me one called "Clifford- a big red dog". It was my all time favorite book then continued to give me other interesting books. -
Telephone
The first time I was exposed to telephones was when my mother called my father abroad as he was a seaman. It was a simple hi and hello's but it felt great! -
Personal Computer
My mother bought a personal computer as she needed it for her business. She lets me use it when she finished her work. I was only allowed to use Paint and sometimes she uses the internet so she puts it into some child-friendly sites such as cartoonnetwork.com & nickelodeon.com. -
Yahoo Messenger
My mother upgraded her computer! A microphone and Camera was added and was eventually used to communicate with other relatives such as my aunt. I was amazed as I can see them on a screen and can even talk to them. -
Skype
Similar to Yahoo Messenger, Skype was used to communicate with my father as it was the available video chat/call during that time. -
Youtube
Youtube - the video sharing website. Watching videos during that time was a tough one as you need to be patient because of the video loads very slow. But, you will be very entertained by watching it. The videos shared before are usually for entertainment purposes only or maybe not. -
Mobile Phone
It was a Sony Ericsson mobile that my mother gave to me and told me that I should use it only for emergency. There were games in it so I was really happy. -
Laptop
It was a privilege to use my mother's laptop before as it was really expensive. Just like a personal computer but very handy. I use it to send chats to my relatives and to my father or watch videos at Youtube. -
Yahoo Mail
I discovered yahoo mail when it was needed for Facebook and Tumblr. I had no idea what was the purpose of it. -
Facebook
I created secretly an account as my mother told me not to use this website. I only wanted to play the games on Facebook. -
Smartphones
I was first exposed to smartphones such as the Nokia 5800 as my classmates have one. I tend to borrow it always to be more informed on how to use these in the future if my mother will give me. -
Tablets
Tablets such as an iPad from Apple was very popular at school and it was filled with gaming applications that can distract you all day long. There was a saying where if you have an Apple product, you are cool, rich, etc. -
Instagram
I was first exposed to Instagram when my mother gave me a Phablet - a combination of Phone and a tablet. I was posting pictures daily even though I have no followers before.
