development project

  • Walking

    Walking
At age 1, I began walking, which is a form of physical/motor development.
  • Stranger Anxiety

At age 1, I had stranger anxiety, which was demonstrated by me crying when I was given to my mother's friend to hold.
  • First word

    First word
At age 1, I spoke my first words, "Junkyard Dog" which was the name of my first dog. This is a form of Language development
  • First phrase

    First phrase
At age 2, I spoke my first phrase, which was "No no kitty." This was referring to my cat Lucy who enjoyed knocking things over.
  • Assimilation or "Elephants"

    Assimilation or "Elephants"
At age 4, I thought that everything with a face was my dad, so I assimilated that a giant chicken suit that my parents had for some reason was my father.
  • Fear of butterflies

When I was 7, I was afraid of butterflies, because I thought that all things that could fly would kill me. I assimilated that butterflies were Pterodactyls and would somehow kill me.
  • Stealing

When I was 8, I stole gumballs from the broken gumball machine in Tacos Del Norte, which shows a lack of moral development.
  • Authoritative Parenting

When I was 13, my father wouldn't let me go anywhere unless I had all A's and B's in every class, and no attempts at negotiations would change his mind. This is an example of Authoritative parenting.
  • Imaginary Audience Phenomenon

    Imaginary Audience Phenomenon
When I was at Homecoming during my Freshman year of high school, I was anxious and refused to dance with my friends because I felt like everyone was looking at me and judging me based on my horrible dancing. This is an example of the Imaginary Audience Phenomenon.
  • Authoritarian Parenting

When I was 16, my mother would not let me go out past 10 PM, but after doing chores and keeping up good grades, I convinced her to let me out until 11 PM. This is an example of authoritarian parenting because my mother offered support and negotiation while being strict.
