I'm Just a Regular Girl with a Story to Share

  • The Beginning

    The Beginning
On the 11th of March 1999 the endless adventure began. They knew I would become the biggest champion of them all as I entered the world already fighting, leaving a big blue bruise on the nurse's hand from my bite. They knew I would never conform to society's definition of life, especially with my stubbornness already noticed through the my own personal schedule having been born fourteen days late.

My journey: The Ups and Downs

Life hasn't always been great, but it was never bad. It's hasn't always been easy, but it's definitely been hard. Trials come and go, but I hear them say "yesterday prepared and strengthened you for today and today will prepare and strengthen you for tomorrow."
  • A Different Wiring

    A Different Wiring
Many years before high school, a brain was wired differently than the rest. With her head whirling a dizzying speed, a young girl was not able to pronounce her words correctly and, in fact, skipped the entire middle part of them. My brother, mom, and her side of the family never noticed the stutter but the father and his side was not able to understand my language, causing my brother to be a translator. Once the not-so-subtle discovery was made, I was sent away to preschool to be rewired.
  • A Firey Call

    A Firey Call
Going out 4-wheelin' in the middle of nowhere was always a treat. Nothing was better than overworking the engine. The desert's dust blowing into the radiator is a disastrous delight instead. The sound of cousin's panicking as their first time rock crawlin' blew up in their face while my brother and I played in the sand less than two feet away making our dearest father who was fixing the engine realize just how comfortable we'd become with these misfortunes as it wasn't the first time for us.
  • Sickness

    Sickness
It was another Buckeye morning, I was bundle of energy and ready to play soccer. Nothing could have foretold the way this adventure would unfold...by midday, I had a mild cold; runny nose, sore throat, slight coughing, and a bit of extra fatigue. This was normal as it was my allergy season, so it was assumed that nothing was wrong. By the end of the day, I was in the hospital with high fevers, nausea, vomit, dangerous lack of appetite, and other symptoms. A test was taken, I had influenza AB.
  • An Undesired Move

    An Undesired Move
Retired from 20 years in the Air force, a father was looking for a piloting school. The only affordable one that was found was a small school on the other side of the country in Vero Beach, FL. Packing up our belongings, the family left the day before their daughter's birthday, which was celebrated on the road. The best present at that time would have been to stay in AZ. A sick feeling, not from being nervous, but from something horrible about to happen....how her family should have listened.
  • Left Behind?

    Left Behind?
All 8 months, life there is what you would consider perfect. That was, until the 8th month came to pass. Being woken up early in the day, the girl was told to pack her stuff, was told to return her school supplies, was told that they were leaving, but was never told why. She wasn't told why her mom had red, puffy eyes. She wasn't told why they had to leave. She wasn't told why they were in such a rush. She wasn't told why her dad wasn't coming with them. But the young girl quickly understood.
  • Tragically Forseen

    Tragically Forseen
People make mistakes, some are worse than others, but the bad choices always leave someone heartbroken...a long while ago, a mom left a dad, dragging her children to the other side of the country with no explanation to be told. Two years passed, the children got used to having no father in the home, but still it hurt when they confirmed their divorce.
  • The Unexpected Expected Loss

    The Unexpected Expected Loss
It seems to me that September is a dire month, few good experiences have derived from this time. Another loss, this one expected, but not till much later. His relapse into leukemia gave way that his time was almost up. As close as we were, no matter how superhuman he seemed, I was glad that my grandfather died when he did, at least he was free from the pain. I guess you never really know how long you have someone, until they're gone.
  • Hidden Pain Within the Bright Smile

Hidden Pain Within the Bright Smile
Everyone feels pain, it's a part of life. Everyone cry's, it's a strength not a weakness. I've always believed that the reason we cry is so that our tears can wash our eyes so we can see the world in a clearer perspective. People say I'm strong, stronger than anyone they know, but I'm not strong all the way through. However, we have to face our pain in order to get over it. Since my family moved here, I've been able to have enough support so that I can lose my footing and start all over again
  • Happy New Years

    Happy New Years
My new year's resolution: Get over the Past and Face the Future. "Maybe it's not about fixing something that's broken, maybe it's about starting over and creating something better." I've been lucky enough to been blessed with family members that I can tell anything and many true friends that tease me relentlessly but watch my back. They're the reason I'm able to look ahead, face my problems and say "Bring it on," cause after all, it was just a bad day, not a bad life.
