The Petition of Right was created and passed by Parliament to reinforce the Magna Carta and Habeas Corpus as Charles I would imprison individuals without trial, which Parliament stated was a violation of Habeas Corpus. -

A civil war erupts between Parliament and Charles I over governance and absolute monarchy being pushed by Charles I. -
Invitation to William
A letter, signed by 7 nobles, asked William III to use militant strategies to force James II to allow William to marry his daughter, Mary. Both William and Mary would rule throughout the Glorious Revolution. -
Declaration of Right
The Declaration of Right was a document passed by Parliament in order to list grievances against James II and to establish clauses which would limit the power of the crown. -
Bill of Rights
Parliament passes the Bill of Rights, setting out the basic civil rights of civilians, clarifying the line of succession for the Crown, and reiterating the power of Parliament in a limited monarchy.
