    This limited the King's power in England after King John foolishly signed England over to the Pope. They blindfolded him, made him sign it then as Mr. Eliason says.. He was never heard from again.

    King John the worst king in english history dies. This allows for england to allow a new king to take over.

    John's son Henry III takes over as a child. He leads england back to prosperous times.

    Henry VIII outlaws Catholic Religion
    King Henry wanted to divorce his wife for a son however the pope wouldnt do it. So he decided to make up the Churck of England and he divorced his wife but never got a son.

    Elizabeth I was one of the great queens of all time. She solved the religious conflict in England by forming the Protestant Church of England. However she was "the virgin queen" and had no heir to her throne.

    This followed disputes between Charles I and Parliament over the 30 years war. It limits the kings power. Charles I signed it.. Then ignored it.
  • English Civil War begins

    English Civil War begins
    Following Charles I signing the Petition of Right and not following it, Parliament raised an army as did the King. They then went to war.
  • End of English Civil War

    The English Civil War ended with not Charles I but Charles the Second as king. Parliament crushed the King's forces causing Charles II to flee.
  • Oliver Cromwell takes Over

    He became "Lord Protector of England". No king this time. However, he became more of a military dictator using the army for his own gains.
  • William and Mary take over

    William and Mary take over
    William and Mary take over England after Charles II flees. They institued constituional monarchy.
