  • James I takes the Throne

    What caused this event to happen is that the monarchs clashed with the parliament. The people who were involved were Elizabeth I and James I. What had happened during this event is that James I tried to win the Parliaments favor. This event is important because the parliament was a big thing when James I was the King. And he tried to get a new translation to the Bible for the Puritans.

  • Charles I is tried for treason and hanged

    What caused this event to happen is that Charles ignored the petition. The people who were involved were Charles and the Parliament. What had ahppened during this event is that Charles ignored his petition, therefore, got hanged. This is important because the other kings after him will learn form his mistakes and that the kings will know not to ignore petitions.

  • Charles I signs the petiton of Right

    What caused this event to happen is that he refused to give the parliament funds. The people who were involved were the Parliament and Charles. What had ahpeened during this event is that the Parliament refused to give Charles any money until he signed the document. This event is importnat because they wanted the King to agree to the four points of the petition before they gave him money.

  • Charles I faces Rebellion in Scotland

    What caused this event to happen is that he wanted both of his Kingdoms to follow one religion. The people who were involved were puritans, Charles, and Scotlands. What had ahppened during this event is that the Scots rebelled, assembled a huge army, and threatened to invade England. This event is important because Charles had to do things to make him a better ruler. He had to hurry and get money.

  • English Civil War Occurs

    What caused this event to happen is that the Puritan supporters of Parliament abttled supporters of England's Monarchy. The people who were involved were King Charles. What had happened during this event is that King Charles fought the English Civil War. This event is important because the English Civil War waas a mjor part of England.

  • Oliver Cromwell abolishes Parliament

    What caused this event to happen is that no one could defeat the army of the Cavaliers so the Puritans got a new general. The people who were invloved were Puritans, Oliver, and the Cavaliers. What had ahppened during this event is that Oliver Cromwell defeated the Cavaliers. This event is important because the Cavailers needed to be stopped eventually because they were trying to take control of Ireland.

  • Oliver Cromwell invades Ireland

    What caused this event to happen is that the Puritans held the King prisoner. The people who were involved were James II, Mary, William of Orange, and the Cavaliers. What happened during this event is that the Puritans finally found a general who could defeat the Cavaliers. This event is important because eventually Cromwell didn't want Ireland anymore.

  • Charles II is restored to the Throne

    What caused this event to happen is that Charles II restored the monarchy, the period of his rule. The people involved were Charles II and the Parliament. What had happened during this event is Prince Charles entered London and they all had a celebration. This event is important because he reestored the Monarchy.

  • Habeas Corpus is passed

    What caused this event to happen is that prisoners were to be brought to a judge. The people who were involved were the Parliament, prisoners, and Charles II. What had happened during this event is that the judge would decide whether the prisoner should be tried or set free. This event is important because it would guarantee that there would be freedom for everyone.

  • Glorious Revolution Occurs

    What caused this event to happen is when the Parliament protested. The people who were involved were James II, Mary, William of Orange and the Catholics. What had ahppened during this event is that a bloodless overthrow of king James II happened. This event is importnat because this was a batlle over the Parliament and the Catholics.

  • James II comes to the Throne

    What caused this event to happen is that Charles II died and James II became king. The people who were involved were James II. What had ahppened during this event is that the Glorious Revolution occurred. This event is important because the bloodless overthrow of James II is called the Glorious Revolution.

  • English Bill of Rights is Signed

    What caused this event to happen is that people wanted freedon and rights of Speech. The people who were involved were William and Mary. What happened during this event is that the parlament drafted a Bill of Rights in 1689. This event is important because it guaranteed such rights as freedom of speech and worship.
