During this event he restored the monarchy, theater, sporting events, and dancing which had been banned. Charles I Signs the Petition of Rights
Having Charles sign the Petition of Rights granted him money that he needed. When he signed this document that ment he could no longer house soldiers in private homes, could not impose martial laws in peacetime, couldnt imprison subjects without due cause and had to inform Parliment's contsent before levy taxes. -
