    Ignacio Allende met Hidalgo and introduced him to his friends including: Juan de Aldama, Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, Epigemio Gonzalez, Miguel Dominguez, and Marino Galván among others. They organized the "literacy club" which was really the planning of the conspiracy, which would take plain the 8 of December, 1810.
  • Discovery

    Discovery
    Marino Galván spoke about the conspiracy to his superior. The authorities went to search for Epigemio Gonzalez's house where they found many weapons and arrested him. The word spread around from Doña Josefa to Ignacio Perez, to Cura Hidalgo, and so on.

    Aldama arrived to Hidalgo's house at two in the morning andfound Ignacio Allende there too. Hidalgo and Allende predicted they were going to be arrested soon.
  • Guanajuato

    Guanajuato
    Hidalgo headed to Guanajuato, and before arriving he asked Juan Antonio de Ruaño to surrender. In exchange, he offered protection for Spaniards, and Riaño preferred to fight. He sent the Spaniards ("gachupines") to the Alondiga de Granaditas for protection. The rebels were welcomed with an assault from Riaño.

    Hidalgo prepared his troops to take over Mexico City. They battled at the Monte de las Cruces.

    Miguel Hidalgo was assasined.

    Morelos became a fugitive. He was captured by the Spaniards, taken to Mexico City, and shot by a firing squad.
  • Plan de Iguala

    This plan made sure that Mexico would become a constitutional monarchy. King Ferdinand was offered the crown and the Roman Catholic religion would become a monarchy.
