The exact date of Uthman's birth is unknown. However, we do know that he was born in 574. He was born in a Quraish tribe in Mecca.

At some point during 610 A.D., Uthman converted to Islam.

From 644 - 656 was when Uthman was in charge and he was the third caliph. Uthman was the caliph for 12 years until he died.

During Uthman's rule, some people migrated to Abyssinina and Medina.

During Uthman's rule of Islam, the empire expands. All of Iran, most of North Africa, the Caucuses, and Cyprus were added to the Islamic Empire.

During 650 A.D., Uthman sent the first official Muslim envoy to China.

Arrived in the Tang capital, Chang'an in 651 A.D.

Uthman compiled the Qu'ran and he was one of the first men to memorize the Qu'ran. The text from 653 A.D., is still in the Qu'ran that Muslims use today. All Muslims used the Qu'ran and there was a law that the Qu'ran can't tuoch the ground. The Qu'ran was Islam's holy book.

During 656 A.D., Uthman died. He was burried in Medina. He had a few wives. Two of his wive's were Ruqayya and Kultum who were Muhammad's daughters. His Son was Amr ibn Uthman and his daughter was Aisha bint Uthman. Uthman died because he was assassinated.

After Uthman's death, a Civil War was started. Many people ended up injured and some people died.
