    Miguel Hidalgo rang the bell for rebellion against the Spanish. THe 17th of September 80,00 men when out througfh Mexico City. Hidalgo was then defeated. The next leader was Jose Maria Morelos who led the revolution for four years. He was then defeated in 1815 by Agustin de Iturbide.

    Simon Bloivar won the independencec for Venezuela from Spain. Bolivar's army experienced various defeats. Bolivar had to go into exile twice.
