    Finally the king agree to the Third Estate's demands to write a constitution. For the bourgeoisie was a triumph because the monarchy wasn't longer absolute.

    Two political groups emerged:
    - The Gerondins represented the interest of the wealthy bourgeoisie. The constitutional monarchy and limited suffrage.
    - The Jacobins represented the petite bourgeoisie.They establish the republic.
    When attacked the Tuileries Palace, Louis XVI was imprisoned, the monarche was abolished and France became a republic.

    The constitution re-established limited male suffrage, a symbol of the borgeoisie's power. Also introduced a neww form of government called the Directory.
    The power and influence of the army increased as a result of the contuining forgeing war.
    Napoleon established a new form of government called the Consulate and he put the peace at home.
