    The Tennis Court Oath
    This was divided into three estates: the clergy, the nobility, and the rest of the population. This three estates was summoned by King Louis XVI when the nation was facing severe financial crisis. On June 20th 1789 King Louis XVI order the closure of it.
    This was important because I feel like it made King Louis XVI gain more controversy.

  • Bastille

    Bastille
    This is a large armory and state prison in the center of Paris. This storming had little to no consequences but it was a big symbol against the Ancien Regime. This is still celebrated today after the 230 years of it happening.
    This is still super important because it is taught in school to this day and it is still celebrated today.

  • Abolition of Feudalism

    Abolition of Feudalism
    The constituent Assembly abolished the entire feudal system. This abolished Manorialsim of the second estate and tithes gathered by the first estate Tithes was one tenth of annual produce or earnings taken from tax for support of a church.
    This was an important part of The French Revolution because it abolished things in the First and Second estates.

    March on the Versailles
    This was that women went on a march from Paris to Versailles in hopes to get bread that was too expensive to buy. These girls were armed with pitchforks, pikes, and muskets. The the beat of the drum, the girls would chant “Bread! Bread!”
    This was an important part of the French Revolution because it was one of the first protests of this time period.

    The Royal Family tries to Flee
    The royal family attempts to flee from Paris to Varennes. They tried to flee because they realized it was too dangerous to stay there because of the revolution. When they were caught, the revolutionary government to them disappeared completely.
    This was an important part of the French Revolution because it shows how dangerous it was and how people wanted out.

    Champ de Mars
    This was an event where the people of France rallied because the decision of the National Constituent Assembly issued a decree that King Louis XVI was still king. Two days before this rally, they issued the rule where King Louis XVI was still king under constitutional monarchy. An Absolute Monarchy is where the King or Queen has absolute power.
    This was important in the French Revolution because it showed how many people in France did not like King Louis XVI and wanted him gone.

    The First Invasion of the Tulleries
    This was the revolutionary turning points. This was almost three years after the attack on Bastille, the people laid siege. This was also the hometown of King Louis XVI.
    This was important in the French Revolution because it was one the the first invasions that happened.

    Overthrow of the Monarchy
    This event happened on August 10th 1792. They over threw the monarchy because they found King Louis XVI guilty of treason. Treason is the crime of betraying ones country

    Execution of King Louis XVI
    King Louis XVI was executed on January 21 1793 because of his act of treason. The way he was executed was by the guillotine. The Revolutionaries made Marie Antoinette watch as the king lost his head.
    This an important event of the French Revolution because they executed King Louis XVI and everyone was happy because he betrayed their country,

  • Reign of Terror

    Reign of Terror
    This event lasted from September 5, 1793 to July 27 1794. The revolutionary government decided to make "Terror" the order of the day and take harsh measures against those suspected of being enemies of the Revolution. The Reign of Terror had an economic side embodied in the Maximum.
    This was an important part of the French Revolution because it went on for a long time and everybody knew about it.
