  • What is a SMART goal?

    A smart goal is a goal that is very specific. These types of goals help you achieve your goals more efficiently and give you more motivation. They are really helpful and should help make your basis for you goal
  • S-Specific

    The S in SMART stands for specific. This is when you ask yourself, what is my goal? Also who? What? Where? When? Which? And Why? This is so you don't generalize your goal and it helps you complete what you actually wanted in the first place.
  • A-Attainable

    The A in SMART stands for attainable. When a goal is important to you, you start to find ways to make it happen. Your attitude, ability, skills, and financial capacity change to achieve the goal. You should have a timeframe I which you carry out the steps wisely. Goals that once seemed far away, move closer because you open up the opportunity to reach them. You feel like you are worthy of the goals, and this allows you to reach your goals.
  • R-Realistic

    The R in SMART stands for realistic. For a goal to realistic, you need to have an objective you are willing and able to work towards. You can have a high goal and still have it be realistic, but you have to decide how high you want to go. In some cases, a high goal is easier to achieve than a lower one because for a low goal, you don't have as much motivation.
  • T-Timely pt.1

    The T in SMART stands for Timely. This is because your goals need to fit within a concrete timeframe. If you don't, you won't feel the sense of urgency you wanted because your subconscious mind isn't working with you. So you will start working on your goal now not later.
  • T-Tangible pt.2

    The T in SMART also stands for tangible. A goal is tangible if you can experience it with one of the senses-taste, touch, smell, sight, or hearing. If a goal is tangible then you have a better chance of having it be specific and measurable and therefore attainable.
  • M-Measurable

    M in SMART stands for measurable. In this step you establish per inmate ways to measure progress for your goals. This helps you stay on track which is why you need to establish specific dates for your completion or partial of your goal. This gets you excited when you have achievements in your goals and this gives you motivation to keep going. You should ask, how much? How many? When?
