    Simon Bolivar, born July 24 1783 in Caracas, Venezuela. Bolivar was a soldier and statesman who led his army to fight the Spanish rules. Simon Bolivar died December 17, 1830 at 47 near Santa Marta Columbia.

    Simon Bolivar had a hard childhood having his father died when he was three and his mother dying 6 years later. His uncle then took him in and provided him with tutors of education. At the age of 16 he went to Europe to finish his education.

    The Latin American independence was launched from France. Napoleon failed to get support from the Spanish colonies. April 19, 1810 Bolivar participate in a meeting including the one when the spanish governor was expelled from his powers and kicked out of Venezuela.

Bolivar did not delegate and ended up throwing himself in the debate which led him to giving his first public speech of his career.     Bolivar joined the army of young republic whose chief was Miranda. Simon was placed in charge of Puerto Cabello on the west side of the Caribbean Sea. Miranda and Bolivar never really got along but Miranda started looking at negotiations with the Spanish army. Bolivar turned him over to their side which led the entire country at mercy with Spain.

The small army, about 2,500 men went through waters, lakes, and plains, they went around the Andes Mountains instead of going through. Since they went through the icy cold winds in that height many men died.

In November the Spanish signed a treaty ending hostile for six month periods. When fighting resumed Bolivar found it easy, he opened the gates of Carcass and finally his homeland was free.
