Personal Project Timeline

  • Period: to

    Research

I need to research to effectively create my product. Therefore I must look into:
    1. What is nuclear power? what is wrong with it so far, and how can thorium fix these shortcomings?
    2. What is thorium? how do these reactors work? Where, how, and when can it be used?
    3. How does Adobe Illustrator work? is there anything I should know beforehand?
  • Period: to

    Bibliography

Create a full bibliography for my citations in MLA8 style
  • Period: to

    Analyse existing reactor designs

See which design could most effectively apply to my reactor. Looking at thorium or uranium reactors are equally helpful. look for:
    1. what could be applied to my reactor? why is this better than the other designs?
    2. What would you most like to change?
    3. How will I go about designing something similar to this?
  • Period: to

    Finalisation

In the form of a design brief, state which kind of reactor I am using, why, and how my research has helped me to decide this.
  • Period: to

    Evaluation

Evaluate at least 5 sources used. Justify:
    1. The Origin
    2. The Purpose
    3. The Value
    4. And the limitation
    of the source.
  • Period: to

    Design Specification

Create A design specification following the ACCESSFM format:
    1. Aesthetics(how it looks)
    2. Cost(the price)
    3. Customer(who will buy it)
    4. Environment(is it eco-friendly)
    5. Safety(is it safe)
    6. Size(how big it is)
    7. Function(what it does)
    8. Materials(what is used to make it)
  • Period: to

    Begin the drafts

Start the draft design. Draw out the necessary functions, and combine them into a building. Create multiple, if necessary. Do this until I understand what pieces I exactly need. Justify why I chose these pieces.
  • Period: to

    Begin the Measurements

Start scaling my product. How big should this be in real life? Ensure I scale each piece according to the others.
  • Period: to

    Create the blueprints

Start making the blueprints on Adobe Illustrator. Make sure to refer back to my previous notes. Keep a reflection on Google Docs of everything I do.
  • Period: to

    Annotated drawings

Go over the blueprints and identify the more difficult-to-understand areas. make drawings and annotate these for such areas.
  • Period: to

    Changes

Describe the changes I have made to my product which were not a part of the final draft. Justify these.
  • Period: to

    Did my product work?

Describe whether or not My product worked, using scientific knowledge. Include in-text referencing as well, and an MLA8 bibliography. Analyse what could have been better using SWOT. If it did indeed work, then post it online. I may post it in multiple places, or wherever I feel it will be best.
  • Period: to

    Reflect

Reflect on what I have done using the SWOT technique (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). Describe how my process went, what was hard about carrying out my timeline, what I liked best, and what I would do next time. Analyse my product, and justify whether it was successful or not.
  • Period: to

    Edits

Quickly go over everything one last time. Make sure you have not missed anything.
