    My family development
    Hi there. My mother is the only girl in the family of very big psychologists. She has six brother and they have each made a name for themselves. Any who this is the timeline of my life through the perspectives of my five uncles who go by the name of, Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, Lawrence Kohlberg, Sigmund Freud, James Marcia, and last but not least Abraham Maslow.
  • Birth

    Birth
    At birth, uncle Piaget would say 0-2 I am in the sensorimotor stage of developement. Uncle Erick believes that for my first year I am grappling with the consept of Trust & Mistrust. Also in the preconventional stage according to Kholy. Uncle Freud also suggests that I am going through the anal stage at this time while Maslow says that I will not continue to develop until my pyschological needs are met. Each day I grow and things change, but all of these are occuring at the same time.

    Maslow's hierarchy of needs, he belived that physiologial needs need to be met before any and all other needs in human development.

    Piaget believed that children progress through four stages of cognitive development, each allow specific styles of thinking.

    He believed that moral reasoning development is important and discovering what is right and wrong. He thought there were three basic levels of moral thinking.

    Freud believed that children experienceunconsious sexual fixation as they grow older, diveded into five stages.

    James Marcia focused his findings on adolescence and his findings are seperated into four categories.

    Erik Erikson belived that each stage of development has its own psychosocial task, a crisis that needs resolution.
  • Oral Stage

    Oral Stage
    Freud says that the mouth is the primary learning device for an infant. He puts everything in his mouth to learn what that substance is. In this stage an infant must suck or die.
  • Sensorimotor

    Sensorimotor
    In the sensorimotor stage from birth to 2, babies take in the world through their senses and actions- through looking, hearing, touching, mouthing, and grasping. A huge test of the sensorimtor stage is object permanence is the lack of being able to acknowledge that when objects are not seen at that moment does not mean they do not exsist.
  • Autonomy and Shame

    Autonomy and Shame
    Uncle erickson says that from the time I am 1-3 i will be going through Autonomy and shame. Also known as the potty trainign stage. I am trying to learn how to control my body and learn how to potty like a big girl. He also says not to get discouraged if it doesn't happen the first couple of times because in this stage I will often doubt my abilities.
  • Trust and Mistrust

    Trust and Mistrust
    If the basic needs are mt te infant learns to trust. By crying infant notices that a bottle will be made so they trust as they cry each time they will get offered a bottle
  • Toddler stage

    Toddler stage
    During the age group of about 1-3 Piaget would say I am experiencing the preoperational stage of cognitive development. Erikson would say I am struggling through Autonomy & Shame, yet Kohlber says I am in stage one of the preconventional stage of moral development. Freud thinks I am in the anal stage. Maslow thinks it is okay to take my time and get mommy to satisfy my physiological.

    Uncle Frued says that from 18 months to about 4 years old I am going through the anal stage and potty training is important. I am learning how to excersise my sphincter muscle.

    I will do whatever it takes to not have mommy mad at me
    Stage two: Naive reward
    I will do whatever it takes to make sure daddy gives me a cookie for cleaning my toys after I play with them.

    Uncle Freud says from about 5 years old till pubrety I will be stuck in the latent stage meaning, that I will be learning may things about the world and myself
  • Preoperational

    Preoperational
    Uncle Piaget says that from the time I am about 2- 7 i will be facing head on the preoperational stage. In this stage i will represent things with my hands and pictures than actual concrete ideas and logic.

    At this point I am going through initiative and guilt accoriding to uncle Erick , and Phallic stage accorind to Freud.

    Freud: At this stage boys and girls begin to notice there is a difference between the two sexes and they tend to gravitate toward thier like sexes.

    Kohlberg's thoery was all based on the thoery of moral development

    James Marcia
    James Marcia's theories were all beased on adolosences and the idea of identity crisis
  • Elementary School Age

    Elementary School Age
    At this stage uncle Piaget says I am going through concrete operations. Erikson says I am going through industry and inferiority while Kohlberg says I am dealing with Converntional morality. Yet, uncle Freud says I am facing the latent stage. and Marcia says that for the next few years I will be going through the conventional morality stage.
  • Concrete Operational

    Concrete Operational
    During this concrete operational stage uncle Piaget would say that I am begining to develop logical thinking and grasp concrete ideas, and this has been occuring from the time I was seven till the time will be eleven.
  • Abraham Maslow

    Maslow's theory was based off of the idea that pressing needs need to be address or fufilled before the ones on the higher end of the triangle
  • Formal Operational

    Formal Operational
    During the formal operational stage uncle Piaget would say that I am begining to develope abstract reasoning, and also mature moral reasoning.
  • Industry and Inferiority

    Industry and Inferiority
    Uncle Erik says that during this time, from age 6 till the funny business (puberty) I will be able to do things for myself and enjoy doing it, but also not to get discouraged if things go wrong.
  • Initative and Guilt

    Erick: Preschoolers learn to initiate tasks and carry out plans or they feel hult about thier efforts to be independent.
  • Identity achievement

    Uncle Marica says that throughout my teenage years I will always be struggling with conflicts. One being identity achievement- successful achievement of a sense of identity.
  • Conventional morality

    Conventional morality
    During my adolescenes uncle Kohly says that my morality focuses on caring for others and on upholding laws and social rules, just because thats the way things are supposed to be. He always said to do the right thing not the cool thing and in life it would pay off.
  • Teenage Years

    Teenage Years
    While my body begins to develop and change so does my stages of development. According to my uncles I am experiencing formal operations, Identity and confusion, post conventional morality, ending the latent stage and begining the genital stage. But one of the most important developmental stages that is crucial to me during this time is uncle Marcia's identity crisis.

    Unquestioning adaption of parental or social values.
  • Genital Stage

    Genital Stage
    Uncle Freud says that from puberty untill I grow up i will be in the genital stage meaning, I will be interested in boys in an intimate way. But he always says there is no rush on this.
  • Identity and Role Confusion

    Identity and Role Confusion
    Uncle Erik says that from puberty to my early twenties, i will be suffering from identity and role confusion meaning, I will be working at who I want to be and who I am becoming. Along the way uncle Erik encourages me to try new things and along the way I may get confused.

    A sense of a struggle for identity, no obvious concern.
  • Adulthood

    Although uncle Frued and uncle Piaget believe that I stay in my previous stage, uncle Erikson thinks that I still have some changes to do. Both being intimacy and isolation, generality and stagnation.

    During this time i will struggle to form close relationships and want to gain an intimate realationship and if not I may begin to feel isolated.
  • Generativity and Stagnation

    Generativity and Stagnation
    During my middle age I will be trying to find my purpose in the world and my contribution. Says uncle Erick.
  • Integrity and Despair

    Integrity and Despair
    During this time uncle Erick says I will be reflecting on my life and deciding whether I feel a sense of success or failure. Uncle Erick knows I will be a success though, so for that reason I am very excited for my future.

    This is a situation where one decides to take a certain action to help another individual irrespective of the consequences or inconvenience of the action, but bases on the moral values behind the action. This can also be referred to as self-sacrifice. The decisions made here are based on autonomous moral principles.

    Physiological needs then Safety needs then Love and belonging then Esteem and only if those need are meet in that order can we get to Self-actualization.
