Carl's Health History

By csv
  • Period: to

    20's

I can exercise more due to my better physical condition and more free time, so I will do more cardiovascular and strength training at least 3 times a week. I will need this as I begin a new career after college and I will not have as much natural exercise time. I will also look for a job and career that I love so that I can keep stress to a manageable level. I don't expect to be married or have children during this time, so I only need to concentrate on my own health outlook now.
  • Period: to

    30's

I hope to be focused on a healthy marriage and starting to have children in my 30s. My wife and I will need to see our doctors for fertility check-ups and we will need to prioritize healthy sleeping patterns, even if we do have small children. We will concentrate on healthy eating by learning to cook. We will also focus on a healthy weight by weighing ourselves and eating "whole foods" such as vegetables and organic meats.
  • Period: to

    40's

I will focus my exercise on strength training and flexibility. My family and I will focus on preventative healthcare such as child well-checks, annual mammograms for my wife, and annual physicals for me. My wife and I will need annual dermatologist appointments to screen for skin caner. I will begin baseline cardiac testing since there is a family history of cardiac issues on my mom's side of the family.
  • Period: to

    50's

My increasingly stiff and tired body will require me to change my exercise habits so I will try new things like long walks, pilates, and yoga. I will begin seeing a gastroenterology to determine when I need to have a colonoscopy for colon cancer screening. My wife's and my diet will become more important as we try to stave off weight gain during her menopause and my older time. I will need to have annual prostate exams, if I have not started already.
  • Period: to

    60's

Since I will be retired in my 60's, I will have more time to go on walks and walk my dog, thus exercising my body more often. I will try to eat healthy as well, due to my old age and potential health issues. My wife and I will consider taking some supplements to help our digestion, nervous system, and hormonal balances. We will work on learning new skills to keep our minds sharp and prevent dementia and other diseases that typically affect older people.
